This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of camera operation, the science of light, composition, and picture taking. Concepts of digital photography are taught through active learning techniques.
Prerequisites
A passing grade of “C” or higher in one of the following courses: CMP 099, CMP 101, or CMP 103, or instructor approval.

1. Describe camera components and their functions.
2. Apply composition techniques in photography.
3. Employ the art of photography by creating high quality images from ordinary snapshots.
4. Describe composition rules and their impact on the viewer.
5. Explain light behavior and how it is controlled.
6. Apply computer editing of images to compensate for camera limitations.
