This course delves deeper into advanced acrylic painting techniques, materials, and creative approaches. Students will further develop their skills in composition, color theory and mixing, underpainting, washes, glazing, masking, and the use of light, shadow, and texture to create depth and visual impact.
 

Prerequisites

ART 243 with a grade of "C" or higher or instructor approval.

1.    Demonstrate proficiency in advanced acrylic painting methods, including layering, glazing, and textural effects.
2.    Utilize color theory principles to effectively mix and apply colors in acrylic painting.
3.    Utilize compositional principles to create balanced and visually engaging acrylic paintings.
4.    Demonstrate advanced skills in rendering shading, reflections, shadows, highlights, and texture to create depth and realism in acrylic painting.
