This course will focus on publishing Gila Community College’s yearbook. The course will focus on gathering and processing news. Includes instruction in news writing and editing, photojournalism, layout and graphic design, and professional standards and ethics. Students collaborate and manage projects, applying conceptual and design principles to produce a yearbook.
Prerequisites
None.
1. Create a central them for the yearbook.
2. Apply the basics of layout, typography, color them, and image placement.
3. Use text and images to tell compelling stories throughout the yearbook.
4. Apply basic photography techniques while taking photos.
5. Use editing software to enhance photos.
6. Participate in peer editing and proofreading for accuracy.
7. Apply time management strategies to meet deadlines.
8. Explore fundraising options.
9. Represent the entire school community fairly and inclusively in the final product.
