This course is a continuation of MUS 125. It offers students the opportunity to rehearse and perform as part of an instrumental ensemble. Emphasis is placed on developing ensemble skills, including tone, balance, rhythm, and musical interpretation. Students study appropriate repertoire and participate in scheduled rehearsals and performances, which may include concerts outside of class time.

Prerequisites

MUS 125 with a grade of “C” or higher

Student Learning Outcomes

1.    Perform ensemble repertoire with accurate pitch, rhythm, and musical expression appropriate to the style. 
2.    Demonstrate improved ensemble skills, including balance, blend, intonation, and attentive listening. 
3.    Apply proper rehearsal techniques by following the conductor’s instructions and contributing to group musical preparation. 
4.    Interpret musical notation and performance markings to support unified ensemble interpretation. 
5.    Participate in public performances that reflect preparedness, professionalism, and collaborative musicianship.
