By engaging with foundational acting techniques, students enhance spontaneity and communication skills. They develop keen observation, heightened body language awareness, improved timing, and expanded imagination. A progressive series of theatre exercises introduces the essential principles of stage presentation. This course builds on Creative Theatre I.
Prerequisites
THC 101 with a grade of “C” or higher.
1. Describe the skills necessary for collaborating effectively with fellow artists in a performance-based ensemble.
2. Demonstrate effective acting techniques by engaging in structured and purposeful scene study.
3. Explain strategies by which an ensemble collaborates to produce a cohesive and high-quality performance.
4. Analyze specific dramatic styles, genres, subjects, and storylines, and examine the specialized skills required for theatrical practice.
5. Create and convey a convincing sense of authenticity in stage performance.
