This course covers the fundamental principles of classical mechanics and thermodynamics. Problem solving is on the trigonometric level.

Prerequisites

MAT 181 with a grade of “C” or higher, or concurrent enrollment in MAT 181, or math placement as established by District policy, or instructor approval.

    1. Quantify one and two-dimensional motion.
    2. Analyze vectors and forces in the application of Newton’s laws of motion and kinematics.
    3. Apply the kinematics of motion to two-dimensional motion.
    4. Quantify momentum and its conservation.

    7. Explain uniform circular motion and gravitation.
