This course introduces the fundamentals of jewelry making, including basic fabrication techniques using sheet and wire, as well as forming and soldering processes. An additional fee is required.

Student Learning Outcomes

1.    Utilize design principles and appropriate metals and jewelry terminology to analyze and discuss jewelry or metalwork in terms of content and individual expression.
2.    Explain and employ additive, reductive, and manipulation processes.
3.    Evaluate and apply problem-solving strategies throughout the design and creation of three-dimensional artworks.
4.    Demonstrate safe working practices in the creation of jewelry and metal artworks.
5.    Complete introductory jewelry projects as assigned by the instructor.
6.    Operate essential jewelry-making tools at a beginner level under instructor supervision.
