This course is designed to help students develop skills necessary to perform a comprehensive career self-assessment, a social media audit, and to search and apply for jobs. The course includes creating an application, cover letter, résumé, references, letters of recommendation, and thank you notes. Communication and interviewing skills are developed and live interviews conducted.

None.

Student Learning Outcomes
    1. Identify a clear career objective through self-assessment of employment history, personal background, skills, abilities, and training.
    2. Produce an organized employment resource kit.
    3. Construct an error-free, effective résumé.
    4. Format an effective cover letter or letter of application.
    5. Complete applications for the job search process.
    6. Produce two types of thank you notes utilized in the job search process.
    7. Prepare for a variety of interview situations and effectively participate in a mock interview.
    8. Perform a personal Social Media Audit.
    9. Create a professional network through in person and online interaction.
