This course is an intensive study of effective oral and written communication strategies vital for success in today's professional landscape. Through a combination of theory and practice, students will master the communication skills necessary to navigate diverse occupational settings. Emphasis will be placed on analyzing audience, purpose, and context to produce clear, concise, and professional-quality communications.

1.    Evaluate and critique various forms of professional communication, identifying key characteristics that define high-quality oral and written messages.
2.    Demonstrate effective interpersonal and collaborative communication skills, including proper business etiquette for meetings, discussions, and professional interactions.
3.    Develop and write a range of business messages, including routine, positive, and negative communications, by tailoring content, tone, and format to a specific audience and purpose.
4.    Formulate and write persuasive messages that ethically influence an audience, using logical appeals, clear evidence, and a strategic message structure.
5.    Research, structure, and write formal business reports and proposals, including executive summaries, data analysis, and recommendations.
6.    Design and deliver a compelling business presentation, effectively using visual aids, managing public speaking anxiety, and engaging the audience.
7.    Apply ethical and professional standards for using digital communication tools and social media platforms in a business context.
8.    Create a professional résumé and cover letter and articulate a personal brand and career narrative.
9.    Formulate a strategic approach to the job search process, including how to prepare for and perform successfully in a professional interview.
