Depending on expertise, students will create basic to advanced sewing projects. Students select projects based on their skill level and interest. Students are expected to have a basic understanding of sewing to be successful in this course. Students must provide their own sewing machine.

Student Learning Outcomes
1. Select pattern and fabric for sewing project.
2. Demonstrate proper use of sewing tools.
3. Interpret pattern information: pattern envelope, guide sheet, pattern symbols.
4. Demonstrate fabric preparation, pattern layout, and cutting fabric.
5. Stitch pieces to complete project.
6. Construct at least one project with specialized details that may include a zipper, snaps, buttons, hook and loop, etc.
7. Apply finishing techniques.
