This course addresses fundamental principles of heat theory and gas laws as they pertain to refrigeration systems. It provides an overview of commercial package units and examines the roles of fresh air mixing, variable air volume, and variable refrigerant flow. The course includes the operation of commercial walk-in coolers and freezers, commercial ice machines, air conditioners, and heat pumps, as well as accessory components and piping methods for installation and maintenance. Safety is emphasized throughout the course.
Prerequisites
