This course provides students with the foundational knowledge and practical skills in the safe selection, operation, and maintenance of common hand and power tools used in industrial maintenance. Emphasis is placed on proper technique, adherence to safety standards, and care of tools to ensure longevity and reliability in an industrial plant environment.

Student Learning Outcomes

1.    Identify and describe the functions of standard hand and power tools used in industrial settings.
2.    Demonstrate correct procedures for the safe and effective use of tools.
3.    Demonstrate proper techniques for assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks using appropriate tools.
4.    Perform routine maintenance and inspection of tools to ensure serviceability.
5.    Demonstrate the application of safety protocols, including personal protective equipment (PPE). and lockout/tagout considerations, when using hand and power tools.
