This course introduces students to the fundamentals of power transmission systems. Students will be introduced to bearings, seals, belt and pulley systems, chain and sprocket systems, and gear trains.

2. Identify and describe the functions of multiple types of seals.
3. Install bearings and seals using a variety of methods.
4. Describe how belt and chain drives produce mechanical advantage.
5. Install belt and chain drives in a variety of applications.
6. Describe how gear drives produce mechanical advantage.
7. Calculate output torque on belt, chain, and gear drives, using standard calculations.
