This course provides advanced training in arc welding across all positions, using TIG, GMAW, plasma, and flame cutting equipment. It prepares students for the AWS welding certification test.
An additional fee is required.
Prerequisites
WLD 101 or WLD 108 with a grade of “C” or higher or instructor approval.
1. Operate all shop welding equipment safely and efficiently to ensure a secure work environment.
2. Assess each task and select the most suitable welding process to achieve optimal results.

4. Deliver consistent, high-quality welds on steel plates in all welding positions.
5. Prepare and assemble pipe joints using shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) techniques.
6. Perform a shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) single V-groove weld on a butt joint in the horizontal fixed position (5G).
7. Perform a shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) single V-groove weld on a butt joint in the vertical fixed position (2G).
8. Perform a shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) single V-groove weld on a butt joint in the 45-degree fixed position (6G).
