Prerequisites

HPE 101Y with a grade of “C” or higher

Student Learning Outcomes

1. Describe what an asana is and explain how regular practice of asanas supports physical strength, flexibility, and overall well being. 
2. Demonstrate correct breathing patterns used in Hatha Yoga, including basic pranayama techniques. 
3. Demonstrate proper body posture and alignment while performing foundational yoga poses.
4. Apply safe movement principles during yoga practice, including mindful transitions and appropriate use of modifications.
5. Practice simple relaxation and mindfulness techniques to reduce stress and enhance body awareness.
