This course expands upon the foundational concepts introduced in HPE 101A focusing on the basics of aerobic exercise to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, and flexibility. Students participate in a range of beginner‑friendly aerobic activities while learning safe exercise practices and simple strategies for building a personal fitness routine. No prior experience is required.
Prerequisites
HPE 101A with a grade of "C" or higher or instructor approval.
1. Identify the fundamental components of aerobic fitness and describe essential safety and injury prevention principles.
2. Demonstrate correct techniques when performing beginner-level aerobic movements.
3. Explain the physiological effects of aerobic exercise on cardiovascular function and general physical fitness.
