This course prepares students for the FAA Remote Pilot Certificate exam by introducing the essential aeronautical knowledge required for safe and legal small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) operations. Topics include key terminology, airspace classifications, flight and operating procedures, weather considerations, and federal regulations governing sUAS.

1.    Identify and explain the regulations that govern rating privileges, operational limitations, and flight procedures for small, unmanned aircraft systems.
2.    Analyze sources of aviation weather information and evaluate their effects on the operation of small, unmanned aircraft systems.
3.    Evaluate loading considerations, performance factors, and emergency response procedures relevant to small, unmanned aircraft systems.
4.    Describe crew resource management principles and standard radio communication procedures applicable to small, unmanned aircraft operations.
5.    Assess decision-making processes and judgment in flight operations.
6.    Explain airport operational procedures and aircraft maintenance requirements.
