This course provides advanced instruction in flight theory, navigation, aircraft safety and operation, and federal aviation regulations. Successful completion prepares students for the FAA written examination for the Instrument Airplane Rating.

Prerequisites

TEC 120 with a grade of "C" or higher.

Student Learning Outcomes

1.    Describe the fundamental principles governing the physics of flight.
2.    Apply Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) procedures and operational protocols.
3.    Analyze the components and performance characteristics of designated aircraft models.
4.    Develop flight plans for both local and cross-country instrument (IFR) operations.
5.    Adhere to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations throughout all flight operations.
