This course provides students with a detailed understanding of the primary hydraulic components used in all mobile and industrial hydraulic systems. The student will gain an understanding of how each component operates, its role within the system, and common best practices for installation and operation.

None.

Student Learning Outcomes

1.    Describe the six basic components in all hydraulic systems.
2.    Recognize and explain the function of common mobile and industrial hydraulic components including pumps, pressure valves, actuators, reservoirs, filters, and hoses.
3.    Read and analyze hydraulic circuit diagrams used in mobile and industrial applications.
4.    Demonstrate proper startup, operation, and shutdown procedures for hydraulic equipment.
5.    Accurately use pressure gauges, flow meters, and other diagnostic tools to evaluate system performance.
6.    Diagnose common hydraulic system problems such as leaks, pressure loss, and component failure.
7.    Describe the theory of operation of multiple hydraulic components.
8.    Describe the purpose of multiple hydraulics in a hydraulic system.
9.    Describe the three primary pumps used in hydraulic systems.
10.    Identify the different types of flow control valves.
