This course offers foundational instruction in adult, child, and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway obstruction relief, and core emergency response skills. Participants receive training in correct compression and ventilation methods, airway management, two-rescuer coordination, and the appropriate use of barrier devices. The curriculum equips individuals to respond effectively to cardiac and respiratory emergencies in both community and workplace environments.
Prerequisites
None.
1. Explain the purpose and critical significance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in enhancing survival rates during cardiac and respiratory emergencies.
2. Demonstrate adult CPR as a single rescuer, utilizing correct compression and ventilation techniques in accordance with current clinical guidelines.
3. Perform interventions to relieve foreign-body airway obstruction in adults, children, and infants.
4. Demonstrate appropriate pediatric and infant CPR techniques, incorporating age-specific modifications in compressions, ventilations, and safety protocols.
5. Apply essential rescue skills, including two-rescuer coordination, airway-opening maneuvers, and the safe use of barrier devices, during simulated emergency scenarios.
