This course examines methods of commercial refrigeration systems, categorizes types of commercial refrigeration units and their respective applications, and differentiates between standard and specialized refrigeration uses.
Prerequisites
HVA 201, HVA 203, and HVA 205, all with a grade of “C” or higher, or instructor approval.
1. Evaluate the components and operational mechanisms of commercial refrigeration systems.
2. Differentiate between various specialized refrigeration applications.
3. Describe essential construction techniques employed in the standard assembly of refrigeration systems.
4. Identify the principles and equipment necessary to maintain safety in classroom, laboratory, and commercial job site settings.

6. Outline protocols for the safe and environmentally responsible handling of refrigerants to prevent harm to individuals and the environment.
7. Identify key attributes of professionalism pertinent to the daily responsibilities of HVACR technicians.
