The basic principles of inert gas welding using a TIG welder. Basic skills will be developed using a TIG welder on a variety of materials and all positions.

Student Learning Outcomes
- Identify GTAW equipment components, inspect for safety, and perform external repairs.
- Set up GTAW equipment for welding plain carbon steel, aluminum, and 3XX stainless steel.
- Make GTAW surfacing welds in the flat position on plain carbon steel, aluminum, and 3XX stainless steel.
- Make fillet welds in all positions on plain carbon steel using GTAW process.
- Make groove welds in all positions on plain carbon steel using the GTAW process.
