This course teaches welding processes as used in modern industry. Course provides instruction in and experience with all major welding processes with emphasis on proper welding techniques to ensure students understand industry requirements. This course places an emphasis on preparing the student to take the AWS welding certification test. An additional fee is required.
Prerequisites
WLD 101 or WLD 108 with a grade of “C” or higher or instructor approval.

- Operate all shop welding equipment safely and effectively.
- Select the best welding process for each assigned welding job.
- Produce high quality precision welds in various steel types using stick arc welding methods.
- Produce high quality welds in steel plates in all positions.
- Produce high quality welds using the GTIG welding process.
- Practice standard shop procedures to minimize distortion in welding.
- Demonstrate welding test methods.
