The Certificate of Proficiency in Law Enforcement Training Academy prepares students for entry-level employment as Arizona peace officers through successful completion of the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (AZPOST) Basic Peace Officer Academy curriculum. The program provides training in the criminal justice system, ethics and professionalism, cultural awareness, criminal law, first aid and emergency medical response, firearms, defensive tactics, tactical driving, active assailant response, officer safety, and critical decision-making. Through classroom instruction, laboratory skills training, and scenario-based exercises, students develop the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies necessary to meet AZPOST training standards and prepare for Arizona peace officer certification and service in law enforcement.

Program Learning Outcomes
1.    Analyze the structure, functions, and processes of the American criminal justice system. 
2.    Demonstrate ethical decision-making and professional conduct consistent with Arizona peace officer standards. 
3.    Apply Arizona criminal law and legal principles to law enforcement situations. 
4.    Communicate effectively and interact professionally with diverse individuals and communities. 
5.    Demonstrate competency in emergency medical response, first aid, and CPR procedures. 
6.    Demonstrate safe and proficient firearms handling and marksmanship skills. 
7.    Apply officer safety principles and approved defensive tactics techniques during law enforcement encounters. 
8.    Demonstrate proficiency in tactical driving and emergency vehicle operations. 
9.    Apply active assailant response principles and tactical problem-solving strategies during critical incidents. 
10.    Integrate legal, ethical, tactical, medical, and communication skills in scenario-based law enforcement situations. 
11.    Demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully meet AZPOST academy training standards and prepare for peace officer certification.
