This program provides students with the theory and skills needed to provide basic care and comfort to clients as a Caregiver. There are lab and clinical components to this program.
Courses in the program may require vaccinations or other medical tests. See course descriptions for additional information. 


Program Learning Outcomes
1.    Identify the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of different care recipients.
2.    Provide safe and effective assistance with activities of daily living.
3.    Effectively communicate with clients and their families.
4.    Employ proper hygiene and infection control measures.
5.    Explain principles of medication administration and client care considerations.
6.    Describe measures to promote safe medication administration in home health and assisted living settings.
7.    Employ skills in basic first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
8.    Identify and report changes in client condition.
9.    Manage stress and maintain professional boundaries.
10.    Analyze legal, ethical, moral, and professional standards and relevant regulations within the healthcare field.
