The Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Plant Maintenance prepares students for careers maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment and fixed-plant systems. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on laboratory training in industrial safety, technical mathematics, mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical fundamentals, and reliability-centered maintenance. Graduates will be prepared for employment in mining, manufacturing, energy production, and other industrial sectors requiring skilled maintenance technicians.
Program Learning Outcomes
1. Apply OSHA safety standards and safe work practices in industrial environments.
2. Perform accurate calculations and measurements using industrial mathematics and precision measurement tools.
3. Identify, select, and safely use common hand tools, power tools, fasteners, and workshop equipment.
4. Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems and apply this knowledge in basic troubleshooting activities.
5. Inspect, install, and maintain bearings, seals, shafts, and mechanical drives to ensure equipment reliability.
6. Conduct basic alignment procedures and lubrication practices according to industry standards.
7. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot pump systems and bulk material handling equipment.
8. Apply principles of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) to support predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
9. Communicate effectively using industry terminology, technical documentation, and maintenance reporting practices.
10. Demonstrate readiness for employment as an entry- to mid-level fixed plant maintenance technician across a range of industries.

Select a sufficient number of credits from the list of General Education courses to reach at least 16 credits. You may not exceed nine credits in any GE Category. The maximum number of credits allowed in Health and Physical Education is two credits.
